Specialist services

Expert support for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children.

Sams Homes Services has significant experience supporting Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children, asylum seekers and refugee young people across both London and Norfolk services.

We understand that many UASC may be navigating trauma, separation from family, cultural transition, uncertainty around immigration status and the normal developmental challenges of adolescence at the same time.

Our multilingual and culturally diverse staff team supports young people through trauma-informed, relationship-based and culturally responsive practice.

Support may include:

  • ESOL and college enrolment support
  • GP dentist and optician registration
  • Support attending appointments and professional meetings
  • Support understanding of professional processes and expectations
  • Emotional wellbeing and keywork support
  • Cultural and community integration
  • Independent living skills development
  • Contextual safeguarding and exploitation awareness
