Our Support

Holistic personalised support at every stage of the journey

Sams Homes Services provides supported accommodation and support services for Looked After Children and Care Leavers aged 16–25 across West London and Norfolk.

Our services are delivered through trauma-informed, relationship-based and safeguarding-led practice, with support tailored to the individual needs, risks and independence levels of each young person.

Support types

We offer two models of support, matched to the needs and goals of each young person.

24/7 On-Site Staffing -Supported Accommodations (16 -17) — Our 24/7 staffed setting provides safe, structured accommodation for 16 – 17 yrs with staff present around the clock. This model supports young people who benefit from higher levels of routine, staff presence, safeguarding oversight and day-to-day guidance.

Floating Support — We also provide ring-fenced 16–17 supported accommodation with floating support arrangements for young people who are developing greater independence but still require regular support, welfare monitoring, keywork and safeguarding oversight.

Across both models, each young person has their own bedroom and shares communal areas such as kitchens, lounges, and bathrooms. Accommodation is designed to encourage social interaction and the development of independent living skills. Provision may include care leavers aged 18+ (staying put equivalent) who continue to require support and continuity before the embrace 18+ settings or embrace a self-directed environment with or without floating support.

Our services are designed to provide holistic, personalised support to foster independence, resilience, and positive life choices.

Specific Support for UASC:

We have extensive experience in supporting Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). Our specialist services for UASC include:

  • Ensuring young people have access to a solicitor to support their asylum claims.
  • Providing advocacy services when necessary to ensure their voices are heard.
  • Facilitating National Referral Mechanism (NRM) referrals for those who may be victims of trafficking or modern slavery.
  • Offering tailored support to help UASC navigate the complexities of the asylum process and integrate into their host communities.
  • Reconnect with family – support to access specialist advice and support in tracing or reconnecting with loved ones—whether back home or elsewhere.

Post 18 provision

At Sams Homes, we also deliver post-18 step-down accommodation and support that are integrated with our supported accommodation for 16- & 17-year-olds. Through the creation of a continuous, trauma-informed pathway, we reduce abrupt transitions to independent living for young people, particularly for those who require additional time before taking on tenancy responsibilities. This method fosters stability and allows our young people to cultivate further and mature essential life skills while maintaining access to familiar staff and a dependable support network in a more self-directed environment. We offer both self-contained settings and small shared accommodation options to meet diverse needs.
